Cultural Packages
The culture of Newfoundland and Labrador has been carved by the hand of
nature and providence of history. You are invited to explore the unique
friendly culture of Newfoundland & Labrador. You may avail
yourself of the Daniel's Harbour Cultural Tour", the "Grand Historic &
Cultural Tour", or you may simply create your own customized package.
Grand Tour Package:
The Grand Tour Package is a week long tour of all the major
sites and attractions of the Northern Peninsula. Tour are priced
at $1200 ($2100 for two people) based on a one week tour.
Days 1 & 2
Welcome to the majestic Northern Peninsula. As we begin our travel
along the mountains and coastline of this land that time forgot, we stop
to visit Gros Morne National Park: a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As the trip continues, a knowledgeable local will guide you amongst the
diverse history and rich culture of the Northern Peninsula. Visit
Western Brook, the Arches, Nurse Bennett House, Port Aux Choix National
Historic Site, and the Bird Cove Archeology Project, just to name a few
attractions.
Day 3 & 4
Moving north, along the rugged coast of the Peninsula, we
eventually reach the UNESCO World Heritage site at Lanse Au Meadows,
where you can stand in the actual spot that Vikings stood, hundreds of
years ago when they came to North America. Then you are invited to
spend the day at an actual recreated Viking Village at Norstead.
Learn about the amazing life these people led.
As well, experience the legend of the Grenfell Mission. Learn
about the inspiring story of a doctor, Sir Wilfred Grenfell, from New
England who cared for the people of the North and will forever be
remembered for his kindness, intelligence and resourcefulness.
Day 5
After traveling to the tip of the Peninsula, you are brought across the
Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador, where you learn about the Red Bay
Whaling Site and L'Anse Au More.
